Necco Wafers Review

Did you know that Necco is the oldest multi-line candy company in the United States?

NECCO (New England Confectionery Company) dates its start back to the summer of 1847. It is the oldest multi-line candy company in the United States. NECCO’s new Corporate World Headquarters in Revere, MA, manufactures timeless candy classics such as NECCO® Wafers, Sweethearts® Conversation Hearts, Mary Jane®, Clark®, Mighty Malts®, Haviland® Thin Mints, Candy House® Candy Buttons, and Squirrel Nut Zippers®.

Necco Wafers are the first mass produced candy brand to go all natural. Not only are they all natural, but they are also fat free, gluten-free and nut-free.

When I was younger, one of my favorite candies was the Necco Wafers. I was excited when I got the email about the review. Now my daughter will have a chance to taste the yummy wafers. It is very hard to find Necco Wafer candies in my area.

This review not only included the seven already Necco Wafer flavors, (Orange, Lemon, Chocolate, Clove, Cinnamon, Wintergreen and Licorice) but it was also for the four new chocolate flavors.

Can you say yum? The Chocolate Necco Wafers flavors are Milk, Dark, White and Mocha. My favorite is the Mocha. My eight-year-old daughter explains the Mocha flavor, as “mmm it tastes like ice coffee.” That is probably why I love it.

When Gillian first tried the chocolate wafer she said “these are really, really, really good I just want to keep them” then she walked off with the package. I guess she decided she was keeping them…

Then I opened a package of the original for her to try. My favorite of the original is cinnamon. Gillian had to say “if I didn’t know any better I would think this was a sucker.” Gillian’s favorite was the wintergreen.

One thing I love most about the Necco Wafer candy is the fact its not sticky. Also the flavor in these little wafers really stand out. Not only does Necco make these yummy wafers, but they also make the sweetheart candies you find at Valentines Day, and the yummy Mary Jane candies. However, I would not recommend the wafers to a smaller child.

Where can I find Necco candies?

Necco’s product line, including seasonal products, is available to all distributors and retailers. Unfortunately, shelf-space in stores is limited. Store managers and corporate buying offices determine which items to stock based on consumer demand. You may want to ask your local store manager if he or she is able to stock the product that you are interested in. Additionally, some Necco products are seasonal and are not available year ’round.

We do not sell our products at wholesale prices directly to consumers. A candy distributor in your area may be able to help. Check the Yellow Pages of your local telephone directory for a “Candy/Confectionery or Wholesale Distributor near you. More FAQ.
