HomeSchooling and Picking the Right Curriculum

Are you to the point where you are tired with the public schools? Do you want to home school, but not too sure on where to begin? After you have decided that, you are ready to make the step into home schooling your child, the next step is deciding which Curriculum you want to use along your home schooling journey. There is several different kinds of curriculum’s to choose from, you have the christian homeschool curriculum, your standard curriculum, or you could even make your own curriculum.

One thing I have learned thus far, while home schooling my daughter, is there is no wrong way to school. Everyday life is schooling, I know whenever Gillian sees something that interests her, and we turn to the internet to discover more about her newfound interest.

Another thing you must remember is all children learn differently. For instance if you have two children schooling at home, and you used a certain curriculum with one, that same one may not work with the second child. If the curriculum is not working properly, do not hesitate to move on to another curriculum.

That is one great thing I love so much about home schooling, if your child is having a hard time with a certain curriculum you have the ability to change the curriculum they are using. In public school, you can only hope your child will catch on to the curriculum the school uses.

Again when choosing a curriculum for your home schooling journey do not rush it, take your time when it comes to picking, after you have picked out the curriculum you feel will work best with your child go from there. If you start to feel, it is not working then weigh out your options, either work slower with the curriculum, or see about changing. Remember when home schooling time is on your side.
