New Giveaway Rules EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

I will not tolerate being lied to. I am honest in all the reviews I do. There is one thing in life I hate more then anything and that is being lied to. My 9 year old daughter even knows better then to tell me lies.

So let this be a warning to those that enter the giveaways I host, as well as those who win the giveaways I host. If I find out you lie to me at any time about receiving an item you have won, you will automatically be blacklisted from winning any other giveaway on my blog.

You may be asking yourself what brings this post on? Well, when I blog, I blog with integrity, I am 100% honest in what I say, I know I would not want to read a review giving all sorts of hype about a product, then go purchase that product and see it was junk.

When I am asked to do a review I expect a company to follow through with the agreement, I give them an honest review to the best of my ability and they in return send the winner the item they have won.

When a winner contacts me and informs me they have yet to receive the item, it doesn’t make me to happy. Why? Because I have did my job in the agreement, and now I find out the company is not following through on their end of the agreement.

When I contact the company to see what is going on and the company gives me not only the dates these items was sent, but also informs me that the winner has won several others of this product as well. Great for the winner on all the wins, BUT when the winner from my blog keeps contacting me and informs me on several times they have not even received the items from the other blogs they won from either. It makes me start wondering and asking questions. I mean really how can the post office lose all of the packages you had coming of the said product.

So I start asking other bloggers about the review/giveaway from the said company. I find out several that hosted had happy winners all received product no problems, then their was a few who had winners with the same situation I was having, they had won several, but had yet to receive the product. This gets me to wondering if the winner I had was really a honest sweeper. So I asked one of the bloggers to email me with the winner from her blog that stated she had not received the said product she won from her blog, BUT did receive the one she won from another bloggers blog.

If you are thinking the winner was the same, you are correct that is what brings on this new rule into my giveaways. I found out this winner, that has been emailing me for almost 2 months stating they still had not received ANY of the items they had won, had in fact received at least one. The winner received from the looks of it the product one week before contacting me telling me they had yet to receive the one they had won from my blog. That was the first contact to this company I had made on behalf of the said winner, and the company informed me said person had won several, which is not the issue, the company never stated winner could not have won previous.  However, the issue is when I asked the winner if they received any of the ones they won, I was told no. When in fact they had a week prior to emailing me with the first email stating they had not received said product.

So bottom line, if I have solid proof a winner lies to me about receiving a product they won from my blog, they will be blacklisted from ever winning again on The Neat Things in Life.

I do however encourage winners to contact me if they have not received a product they have won from my blog. I will do what I have to do, to find out if the product had been shipped.

  1. Remember when you were 5 and you were told the story of the boy who cried wolf?
Everytime you go back on you word, or lie, or do anything *hinky * on or offline you are crying wolf.
Even though some people check their integrity at the keyboard when they enter cyber space most people are honest. All you have in this world s your word. The more you keep it the more value it has. I am sorry that you had to learn this lesson this way, J. am praying for you that this episode doesnt jade you and that you do know we do appreciate what you do and the time it takes to do it.

    • I remember being 10 or so and my sister writing my name on the wall, telling my evil step mom I did it, and I got beat. That is what I remember, one thing I learned from all of the mess growing up, is that is one thing in life you do not do is lie. Lying will get a person no where. My daughter 9 year old daughter knows to this day NOT to lie to mom. If she does something wrong she will get in a lot less trouble coming to mom and dad then trying to lie and hide it.

Some people just forget things can be verified.

  2. Did you call this person on it? Why in the heck would someone lie about not receiving a prize, when they obviously have already received it? Are they really that thick? Do they not realize these things can be verified? Wow!

    • I wanted to call this person on it very badly, however I was pretty pissed when I found out they had lied. I figured it would be smarter to do a post and let others know lying about receiving an item WILL NOT be tolerated, and sadly this is not the first person to do it and it isn’t the last person to do it. However if they want to continue entering giveaways hosted here they will think twice before hitting the send button telling me they still had not yet received the item when it is RIGHT IN THERE HAND.

i dont like it when i DONT get a prize and this has happened , and usually it all gets sorted out, but if people are lying about it then if makes it than much harder for those of us who really havent got the item, the only time i think where i didnt get it and it willl never come was when i won the same item from 2 blogs on the same day, the company was doing alot of giveaways, only one came and i think they probably assumed they had sent it , it wasnt a large item so i just didnt bother about it. what is that saying, CHEATERS NEVER WIN AND WINNERS NEVER CHEAT

    • You are 100% right, I also enter giveaways and there has been a few times I never got what I won, and yes it gets a bit aggravating. That is why when a winner tells me they have yet to receive the item they win I check into it. Looks like this time the winner got caught.

This winner told me several times they had not received ANY of the items they won, then I find out they did in fact get at least one, so now that this winner has done lied to me, I am not sure one way or another if they received the winning item from this blog. I know I will not take their word on it since they have already lied, and the company has given me the dates all items was shipped to said winner. So this will continue to be a mystery.

  4. Oh, ya. This has happened to me twice and it was the SAME exact scenario that you just explained above. Maybe it was the SAME person?? Hmm… Sucks. We put so much time and effort into our reviews/giveaways, posted and promoting, then on top of it all we have to deal with someone who LIES. So sad really. For what, extra product? Gimme a break! They really need to focus their energy on more important things, like maybe their family and LIFE??? Hoping this does not happen again to either of us. Hugs!
