Low Fat Spaghetti Recipe

I love my Italian meals, but most are pasta dishes, I have found a way to alter spaghetti, so that it has less calories.

Ingredients:

1lb Ground Turkey

1 small onion

garlic

1 can spaghetti Sauce (if you would rather use a can of tomatoes, tomato sauce, and Italian seasonings go for it)

8 ounce whole wheat penne pasta. (we prefer penne pasta over spaghetti pasta)

First I take and cook up my ground turkey, some people cook it is olive oil, I prefer just a small amount of water so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. After the turkey is almost cooked, I dice up my onion and saute it with the turkey, I also like to add some garlic. We all love garlic here, one everything is ready, I add my sauce, if I have mushrooms, I will also add them.

Then I cook my pasta according to package, mix everything together and eat. Simple, low fat dinner!

We love spaghetti! We have it about once a week. I’ll have to try this recipe!

  2. I have been using 99% lean ground turkey for a while and am hooked. I use it in spaghetti, for meatballs, tacos and even burgers. I really like the taste of it and it’s good for you.

I love the turkey idea. I have never tried spaghetti with turkey – that does make it healthier.
