User Name NOT to Use When Creating a WordPress Account

If you are one of the ones thinking of making the switch from blogger to wordpress, keep in mind when making a user account NOT to use admin, as your user name… If you want it to read Admin as the one doing the post, set it in your settings.

I get about 2 to 5 attempts to access my account daily, all using the default admin. I just hope they do not crack my password one day and get in *snickers*.

If you by chance already have a wordpress account, and you were silly and used admin as your login, I highly recommend you get the plugin called Limit Login Attempts. This plugin you can custom where if someone is trying to brute force their way into your blog they get banned.

I currently have mine set for 2 failed attempts the person gets banned. I have one person that doesn’t want to give up on trying to access my site. Everytime someone makes an attempt to access my blog via failed logins, I get emailed letting me know

Love limit login attemptsI must have something this person is wanting pretty badly! I have also locked myself out a few different times, if you do by chance lock yourself out, you will just have to breath, and give it a bit to expire. I personally feel this plugin is perfect for keeping those out that are not suppose to be in!
