Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc

The Sony Ericsson Xperia series of phones features the Arc, an ultra light, compact Smartphone that features a backlit LCD and 16-million-color display. The Sony Ericsson Arc is a HD video phone optimized for superior photography and video performance using the Sony BRAVIA engine for mobile phones. The 4.2-inch scratch resistant display is equipped with a standard accelerometer and proximity sensors for rotational and standby control. The phones multi-touch display improves photo and video manipulation.

Under the Hood

Sony’s Li-Po battery pushes this media phone’s talk time capacity to 7 hours while supporting a Scorpion processor running at 1 Gigahertz. The graphics processor is the Adreno 205 that is able to deliver seamless video playback and superior performance on games. The phone supports WLAN, EDGE, GPRS and 3G for high-speed internet connectivity. Device synchronization is complete with Bluetooth and USB, but the distinguishing feature of the phone is the useful HDMI port not usually found on Sony cellphones. The phone is paired with premier carriers unlike cheap unlocked cell phones, although unlocked GSM android phones allow a user greater control over the plans and software that may be installed on the phone and flexibility with cell phone plans.

The 8-megapixel camera comes with a host of sophisticated features including smile detection, an image stabilizer, as well as manual touch focus. The video recording allows 720p HD video recording at 30 frames per second with intuitive autofocus. Reviews of online cell phones show that the Android 2.3 OS hosts a complete entertainment and social networking package and supports Adobe Flash playback. The recording microphone has noise reduction capabilities making for clear, uncomplicated video recording.
