Thinking About The Future

Have you ever sat there, and wondered what will happen in the future. I mean really thought about it. We all know we don’t live forever, and I am sure we all know sometime down the road we will need to see about elder care. Sure it’s great to hope our children will care for us when we start getting older, after all we cared for them while they were getting older right?

Often times it doesn’t happen that way though, although our children love us, they have families of their own to think about and care for, and to be honest I wouldn’t want to be a burden on my daughter. Of course, I would love to live in my own home until the day I die, it may not be possible. A lot can happen between now and then.

You maybe thinking I am crazy to even be thinking about who will care for me when I get older. However, it is reality and it’s a road most will have to cross as they age. Sometimes it is better to look into certain options when your mind is all there so you can play the role on your care once you get older.

I have heard many horror stories where a child just didn’t care and put their parents in the first home that would take them. I hope when the time comes my daughter does care for me, however, I want to have my own options on where to go if it comes down to me not being able to care for myself.

Are these things you think about?
