It’s a known fact that during the holidays crime rates go up. Every year we see a spike in our neighborhood as this time of year. I don’t know if it’s because people are desperate or because they see more opportunity. You can never be too careful any time of year and I don’t know why we have waited this long but last week I finally went to atlantahomesecurity.com to schedule an install for a security system in our home. We don’t have a lot but what we do have I would like to keep. That said, a home security system is only good if you use it. When researching the benefits of home security systems I learned that 40% of homes with alarm system that were broken in to did not have their alarms set at the time of the break-in. I plan to be extremely diligent in setting my alarm system. Even if we just go out for a walk, I will be setting it for peace of mind. I’ll feel better knowing I have it on whether I am away from the house for 5 minutes or 5 hours.
