Money is the thing that’s being talked about the most at the office and I can’t say it’s not scary. I love being a small business owner but there’s something to be said for not having the pressure of the whole business venture on your shoulders. I did everything right from the get go: I hired an accountant and I went to smallbusiness.xo.com to get our website up and running and I even set up an LLC to absolve my husband of the liability (we weren’t married yet) but it doesn’t matter when business just isn’t coming in like it used to. I tried so hard to keep up appearances but I had to shutter the retail shop last month and now I’m working out of my house. I think I’m going to make it through the next few years if I can do what I’m doing now but things are much tighter than they were when we started the business, you know? I love being an entrepreneur but it’s tough work!
