Learning Proper Pet Care

When we were in Michigan we fell in love with my sister’s dogs. I have to be honest though because I was never much a dog person. Cat person yes, I love cuddling with a nice fur ball. My daughter is the same way, she loves all animals, however, she became more attached to dogs. We are in the process of getting her a dog, but before she gets one she needs to know how to properly take care of it.

Animals are just like humans, only difference is they need someone to do what we do for ourselves, such as brushing our teeth.

I have let her know taking on the responsibility of another living thing is not easy and that she will have to learn about everything. Even how to trim their nails. Now I am not saying daddy and I will not help, but she will be doing more than just the fun cuddling and playing part. She will be picking up poop, and giving it baths, and taking him or her for walks!

So it is best she learns now about some of the key points in raising a dog, because once she gets one she is the one being momma to it 95% of the time.
