Affordable Weight Loss

If you have been following The Neat Things in Life, then you know for the past almost 2 years I have been trying to lose weight, all of these have been failed attempts. Some of the diets I have tried included the HCG shots (lost 15 pounds but gained it plus back), Cabbage Soup diet (this lasted a day, how can anyone just eat this soup?), Lemonade Diet (I lost about 5 pounds on this). All these diets did was make me want food more. I was literally starving myself.

It wasn’t until recently, I learned the secret on how to lose weight successfully, and keep the weight off. Okay, so it isn’t no secret, and I am not paying tons of money for programs such as Nutrisystem, or Weight Watchers…

The last time I went to the doctor was in February at this time I weighed A LOT… Once I get to a lower number I will share the amount I weighed… However, right now 5 months later I am 32 pounds less… It wasn’t until June when I actually started to try, since May I am down 17.2 pounds!

You’re probably wanting me to get to the point and tell you what the secret it right? Well, good news this secret will not cost you a bunch of money. It will cost you to change your habits. My family has completely changed our eating habits.

I have lost all this weight by changing what I eat… You maybe saying well I don’t eat much I only eat once a day… That is your problem. You maybe saying now well you said it wasn’t going to cost me more, it will if I have to buy more food… Yup, this was my thinking as well.

I ate about once a day maybe… I would snack here and there, until I got to the main meal. I did this to cut the cost of groceries. BIG MISTAKE and let me tell you why… This is coming from a fat girl, not someone trying to get rich. You’re probably getting tired of reading this post, and I understand, but bare with me a bit more.

To save money I ate less a day, but when it was time to eat I would eat a LOT… For a family of three we would eat 2 large pizzas. To be honest, I could eat a full one by myself… Do you know how many calories that is for one sitting? How about 4 of those dollar McDoubles from Mcdonalds…

In the past 2 months, I have learned to properly eat, we have cut fast food out, and brought in the whole grains, fruits, and veggies. I drink nothing but water most days. I aim for 120 ounces a day! My meals are still tasty, but they’re less and more often. The reason we didn’t eat like this before, is because I viewed healthy eating as being costly. Little did I know once my body gets the nutrients it NEEDS, I eat less, and feel so much better.

Although, in my mind when I was eating once a day and snacking throughout the day I was actually eating a lot more and what makes it worse, my calorie intake was all in ONE sitting.

So to lose weight affordable, you don’t need no expensive program to help you in your journey. All you need is to cook healthierm eat three meals a day, and have at least 2 snacks, throw away the potato chips…

Eat more fruits, veggies, and lean meat, and drink more water!

If you are not sure how to cook healthy or what types of things to season your food with, I do suggest the digest diet book, not for the weight loss aspect of it, because although this book will guide you to healthy eating, YOU need to learn how to prepare your meals. Let this book be your guide.
