Backing Up Your Systems

As a personal computer owner nothing stinks more than having a computer crash and losing everything! I can only image what that pain is for those who run businesses. When my computer crashed for the first time, and I had to reinstall the operating system I lost hundreds of photos. At the time I was clueless about backing up my important files. Thankfully now I know to back them up every so often to a external harddrive. But what happens if that external harddrive breaks? I know what will happen I will go into mommy meltdown, and throw a tantrum, I see it now.

I have been thinking about doing a backup offsite. With having these important files and images saved elsewhere I will hopefully be better protected in case something was to happen. This would save me from having a meltdown, it will save my husband from having to deal with me because I lost all those important images.

Whether you are a company owner or a personal computer user having a second backup method is always a smart route to take. For me my pictures are a way to keep those memories alive. I like sitting around going through them with my daughter.

Have you thought about backing up your important documents and pictures offsite?

I had an external harddrive fail on me, I checked around and it was going to be expensive to try to recover my data… but it was not a guarantee that they can recover any data.
Thank you for the tip on backing up regularly, I will be checking into backup offsite.

  2. I do not have an external drive, and have had my computer crash. I just immediately save what I need to on disc and hope for the best.
