Using The Droid DNA by HTC As My Mobile Cookbook

I have never been one for cooking from scratch. For a long time it was always boxed meals for us. I am not sure if it was because they were cheap and convenient or if I was afraid of the end result while in the kitchen. Which is pretty funny because in my younger days I worked in a kitchen of a busy casino, and was taught by some awesome chefs.

So with attempting to eat healthier I decided to take a risk and ditch the boxed meals and start cooking from scratch.

I would often find myself going from the computer to the kitchen using Google as my friend. I would get an idea and off to the computer I would go, instead of printing the recipe I would jot it down on paper. My jots often included only the ingredients, and the rest I attempted to remember. This lead to not so good dinner rolls, and funny looking side dishes.

With being a Verizon Wireless Ambassador I decided to use that to my advantage. The Droid DNA has a awesome 5 inch screen which is the perfect size for my new pocket cookbook. I literally have millions of recipes at the tip of my fingers. Two of my favorite apps to work with in the kitchen are Big Oven and Pinterest.

Not only do both apps offer me thousands of different recipes they also allow me a way to save the recipes in case they’re a hit at the dinner table.

This month I will be attempting to make BBQ Chicken Sliders and a healthier version of no baked cookies.

I have found my body likes it better when I cook outside the box verses cooking from the box!

Do you often find yourself cooking from boxes?

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassadors program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

  1. Good idea! My resolution was to do more cooking from scratch this year, and I find myself doing the same thing with recipes. I should look into some cooking apps for my phone (or Kindle!)
