Vacation Time Yet?

Now that our car is paid off, I would love to plan a vacation. It has been along time since we were able to go somewhere and enjoy it. While we did go to Michigan for about 8 months, I wouldn’t call that a vacation. I would love to go somewhere on the coast. My husband and I have been checking into the different activities and sight seeing options on the east coast, and so far we are leaning more towards NC. With it only being about an 8 hour drive I think it would be a great road trip.

We have been checking out the area attractions near Highlands NC, and I think our daughter would have a blast!

With my family having a love for hiking and geocaching, I think their trails would be a blast, and I would also love to check out all the fun outdoor activities they have to offer. I have heard many great things about this area, I also heard in a neighboring town they have a beautiful water fall.

If we had time we would head over to the Bridal Veil Falls in Nantahala National Forest. We couldn’t go all that way and not get pictures of this waterfall!

Are you from the Highlands, NC area? What are some places you would recommend our family to check out, something our 11 year old daughter would have fun checking out?
