3 Tips For Camping Trips

Growing up we spent a lot of time going on camping trips. Whether we were going with the family or going with friends, we always had a blast. Now that the times have past and we are in a new generation, it seems parents are not having the time to take their children camping! Which is fine, but don’t let your children miss out on what could be some of the best times of their lives!

If you are unable to take the kids camping check out camp groups such as Tips On Trips And Camps.

Through-out all the years I have gone camping I have learned a few helpful tips. These tips will give your child the most out of their trip and many memories to look back on!

1.) Take a camera! Even if it’s a disposable camera, you want your child to be able to capture those special moments. They will also meet new friends, so being able to take pictures so they can come home and share the experience with you, is a great thing.

2.) Leave all electronics except the camera at home! You want your child to experience life without technology. Let them remove themselves from the fast pace of life, and just have fun! Often time I think kids today have no idea what fun truly is, when we were growing up we had no cell phones, no mp3 players, no computers. We had to make our fun up as we went a long. Our fun was playing hide-n-seek after dark with the neighbor kids.

By your children leaving their devices at home they will have no distractions from enjoying themselves to the fullest.

3.) Pack as light as possible but make sure you have clothes for all types of weather. When you go camping you don’t need all the shoes, make-up and several changes of clothes. Several changes of underwear sure, but the trees care not what you look like. The less things you take the less things you need to keep up with. Plan your clothes based on how long you will be there, you can always were the same shorts more than once! Also, don’t forget the bug spray!

If your kids are not wanting to go camping, try to encourage them to go!

We camped with our guys until they were in their 20’s. They brought friends and girlfriends. We brought all our family pets. Now its just myself and grandpa and we are still making wonderful memories.

    • I MISS those times when we would go camping with grandma and grandpa. My grandfather worked on the roads so most the time him and grandma would camp at different campsites, and all of use grandkids would go pitch tents on their camping lot. My grandpa just passed away a few months ago, and it hurts knowing there will never be another camping trip with all of us grandkids. Technology has taken over, and the kids now days are not seeing what true fun is!
