Whole Wheat BBQ Chicken Pizza Recipe

Everyone likes Barbecue, and you don’t have to sacrifice healthy eating to enjoy it. This recipe explains how to make whole wheat pizza dough from scratch, and make a delicious BBQ chicken pizza.

Ingredients Needed:

Dough
3 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
3 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Salt
3 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil

Toppings
2 Chicken Breasts
1 Sweet Vidalia Onion
1 cup Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce (or sauce of your choice)
1 1/2 cups Reduced Fat Mozzarella Cheese

Cut the chicken breasts into small chunks and dice your onions. Combine both ingredients in a medium saute pan and cook until well done. Decrease heat to a simmer. Drain excess moisture from the chicken and onion mixture. Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken and let simmer on low heat while you prepare the dough.

Combine all of the Dough ingredients together. Kneed the dough lightly until it is well mixed but not too overworked. Use additional flower to reduce stickiness if needed. Roll or toss the dough until it is your desired size and thickness.

Evenly distribute the mixture of chicken chunks, onions and sauce over the pizza dough. Do the same with your reduced fat mozzarella cheese.

Put into a 400 degree preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Or until the cheese is melted thoroughly on top. Enjoy!
