Celebrating the Entertaining Attributes of a Cat

Cats seem to have a natural ability to entertain. From the playful, clumsy, “adorable beyond description” stage to the somewhat aloof, sophisticated and majestic stage, cats provide entertainment in a variety of ways to anyone willing to pay attention. Cats don’t need a stage, they can put on a show anywhere, any time using whatever objects they can find as props.

If you share your home with a cat, you already know that cats can amuse themselves and anyone watching with ordinary household objects. If it moves, they’ll chase it. If they can climb on it they will. If they can hide under it, they will. It often seems that one of their favorite tricks is to wind their beautiful body in, around and in between fragile decorative accessories sitting on a table.

Did you know that many cats respond well to music? Soft, instrumentals can calm an overactive cat while loud, lively music can nudge a lethargic cat into a playful mood. Music therapy is used to calm frightened cats, solve numerous behavior problems and even help resolve separation anxiety issues. With all of those positive ways that music can affect a cat, their chosen forms of musical enjoyment seem to be playing an instrument themselves and helping you as you play.

An ideal way to add humor or sophistication to your home decor is by including cat art in your decor. Original art is typically expensive. You may not have the funds left in the budget for expensive art once you buy your cat it’s favorite food, treats and toys. However, if you sit down at your computer, with your cat assisting you, you can find some unique and original ways to incorporate cat themed art into your decor. Cards that feature a cat engaged in antics such as playing with the bow while their owner plays the cello or composing their personal melody on the piano keys. A frugal way to add original art to your decor is to frame cards such as these and hang them on the wall or place them on an accent table.

You can delight any of your friends, who love cats as much as you do, by sending them a cat themed card on special occasions. You might want to pass along the idea of framing it so that the card can become a part of their home decor.
