Stock-Up On Fairy Tales Hair Care and Be Ready For #BTS

I have always thought since we home-schooled, I would never have to deal with the head-lice epidemic. However, during a sleepover with cousins, on came the pesky bugs. We have always tried to keep a head-lice shield spray in our home, but when a parent fails to treat their child’s hair and she keeps getting it over and over, even the shield had a hard time shielding.

Needless to say, this summer I spent many hours treating my daughters hair. I remember laying in bed almost a sleep, when my daughter sent me a message on my phone telling me she found a bug in her hair and after Googling she discovered it was lice.

I wasn’t a bit happy, this whole ordeal upset me to no other. I went to the store to stock up on some home remedy treatments, I tried tea tree oil and olive oil, tea tree oil and rubbing alcohol, we even colored her hair. While this was a temp fix because like I said, if the carrier isn’t getting treated she is going to keep sharing her friends.

So about three weeks later on came some more bugs, the thing that really angered me is I to was getting them! How do you tell a tween to keep her head away from your child, how do you tell her NOT to use your child’s things… So yet again, I was left attempting to treat my daughter’s hair. I went to the store and was looking at the head-lice products. Not only is the treatment price insanely high it’s extremely embarrassing purchasing head-lice product in the store. I also discovered the chemical in lice treatment isn’t very safe. I ended up grabbing some conditioner and I left the store.

I still had the lice issue I was battling and I reached out to Fairy Tales Hair Care. I worked with them in the past for head-lice prevention, and their prevention worked great, so I knew I had to check out their actual head-lice kits.

We were sent a Lice Good-Bye® Survival Kit. The kit includes everything a parent needs to treat head-lice without the embarrassment or the harsh chemicals from store bought lice treatment.

Once I received the kit in the mail, I knew it wouldn’t be long before my daughter got the bugs again, her niece was about to be around again, and I knew her mom had not treated her. Even though my mother in law attempted to treat, somehow my daughter got the bugs yet again. I pulled everything out of the box and began the tedious job.

First thing was first, I got my daughter’s hair wet a little to make it a bit easier to work with, I then started to apply the Lice Good-Bye product. I found the product to be extremely easy to use, I pumped the foam mixture into my hand then massaged it into my daughter’s hair. After it was completed I let it sit in her hair for about 20 minutes.

After what seemed like forever, I pulled out the clip and the terminator nit-free comb and got busy. I made sure before I started combing through I had a roll of toilet paper and a plastic baggy, I wasn’t about to let the bugs get free. It didn’t take long and I was pulling nits and bugs from my daughter’s hair.

This was not a fun job, after I combed completely through her hair, I sent her to the shower to rinse it from her hair, and then I repeated. At this time I was so tired of having to redo her hair I was making sure I was getting EVERYTHING. One thing I like about the kit, it also comes with some prevention spray which my daughter has been using whenever she goes by her cousins. I know she was also annoyed with mom having to spend hours going through her hair.

I treated my daughter’s hair about three times with the Lice Good-Bye and still have enough to treat her hair a few more times if need be. I am hoping she stays smart and keeps using the shield so we don’t have to worry about bugs again. With school soon to be back in session, now is the time to stock up on head-lice treatment. So when the time comes your child starts scratching at their head you can take care of the problem before it starts.
