Elderberry Jams and Jellies from Norm’s Farms

How many of you have heard of Elderberries? I honestly had no clue what an elderberry was until a few weeks ago when I was contacted by Norm’s Farm and introduced to their products. Elderberries are similar to blueberries, they grow on a bush, they’re used to make medicines, wines, and jellies/jams.

Elderberries are extremely popular in Europe because they’re loaded with antioxidants and other healing properties. However, here in the states elderberries are not as common. Norm’s Farms, is hoping to introduce Americans to this powerful berry with their elderberry jams, jellies, and preserves.

We have been slowly moving away from processed foods and adding more natural foods into our diets. It has been sometime since we have had any jams, jellies, or preservatives in our home. When it comes time for peanut butter sandwiches, we spread out whitewheat bread with all natural peanut butter and once in awhile I will throw a few frozen grapes on to it, to give me a natural “jelly”.

After reading about elderberries I was very interested in the product and how it would make a difference to my sandwich.

I decided not to spread my bread with the product until after I sampled the product.

The Elderberry Ginger Pecan Jam was a bit different, I am not sure I would use this product with my peanut butter, but it was awesome on toast. The other elderberry products tasted similar to grape jelly. I love that I can add the product to my peanut butter sandwiches for an even healthier lunch.

Recipes for elderberries can be found here, if you’re interested in checking out this powerful product you can purchase the jams, jellies, and preservatives from the Norm’s Farm website, or you can find the product in selected stores in six different states. Their products are GMO-free and only contain 8grams of sugar per serving.

Make sure to connect with Norm’s Farms on their social media outlets to learn more about elderberries and how they can make a difference in your life.
