Fight for Your Write With BIC Plus Giveaway

Did you know that writing is one of the most important learning tools that will help aid in your child’s success and growth. Research has shown that writing not only fosters a child’s emotional and cognitive development but also helps  foster a child’s critical thinking skills and improves their academic achievement.

BIC knows how important it is for children to not only know how to write, but to have a love for writing and they have launched the Fight for Your Write campaign. This campaign is geared to help reinforce how fun and empowering writing can be. More information about the Fight for Your Write campaign as well as tips from literacy expert Pam Allyn can be found here.

BIC didn’t finish with the Fight for Your Write website, they have also launched some new products to make writing fun and to inspire kids to confidently express their words in writing. With as much as 33% of students not proficient in handwriting, it’s time parents step in and start working with their child so that number can be lowered.

We were sent some of these new products to check out ourselves, with Gillian doing more writing work this year I was excited to see what all BIC had in store to help make writing fun!

BIC Fight for Your Write

Right away I noticed products geared towards younger kids. This excited me, because if we teach our kids to love pens, pencils, crayons and other writing products at a young age, we won’t have to fight with them when they get older.

The BIC Kids are geared for those kids age 4 and older. Their designed to teach young kids how to properly hold the pencil and/or pen.

BIC Kids

When my daughter was first learning how to write, I would have loved to have something like this for her. The way she held the pencil drove me batty, because I knew it was hurting her hand.

With Gillian getting older she prefers to write with ink pens, the problem with this is when she messes up she has no way to correct it, that is until now. She can now fix any mess ups she does with wite-out zap.

This particular product can be a bit tricky, but works great for fixing any goofs. I also liked the 4 colors in one pens, gives me a throwback to my childhood.

BIC isn’t stopping at the site and the new products though, they’re pretty serious about helping kids with their writing. For everyone who signs the petition between 7/15/2014 and 8/12/2014, BIC will donate one pen or pencil to adoptaclassroom.org. The minimum being donated is 50,000 with the maximum being 100,000.

Make sure to follow BIC on their social media channels so you can stay up to date on any new products, sweepstakes, or specials.
