Family Fun in Flora-Bama

I don’t think my family has taken a real vacation in for ever. I mean we go camping once in awhile, and we have made a few trips back to Michigan. However, a real family vacation in a place we have never been has never happened.

With my husband’s birthday, our wedding anniversary and my birthday all back to back, my husband and I was going to go stay at a nice hotel to celebrate, however, last minute we decided to make it into a family vacation.

We rented a car, booked the room and just took off. We only knew a week in advance that we would be headed to the ocean. I started looking for fun things to do, we knew we would go to the beach, however, I wanted something more fun to do… As searching I found dolphin cruises! I love dolphins, always have, so I booked us a 2 hour dolphin cruise.

With so many different cruises down there to choose from, I wanted something with less people. We decided to go with the Blue Dolphin Cruises.

Blue Dolphin Cruises Orange Beach Alabama

The Blue Dolphin Cruises have 4 different times they go out and they don’t over crowd their boat. We went with the 6pm cruise, we were hoping the evening hours would have for more active dolphins. A long the cruise we were able to see some beautiful houses on Ono Island, houses I can only dream of one day owning.

We of course also seen several beautiful dolphins, I would have loved to seen them jumping out of the water to greet us, however, we weren’t at sea world.

How neat is that, to get to go out and see dolphins in their natural habitat!

While on vacation we not only had fun on the Blue Dolphin Cruise, we also had fun on the beach, we swam in the ocean, collected sea shells and just relaxed.

Now that we have seen the beauty of the ocean, we will be back for sure!

Our daughter had a great time and on our way home every body of water she seen she was asking if it was the ocean, this was a trip that will not be forgotten anytime soon, and I will be planning our next trip soon. Hopefully, we will be able to rent an ocean front beach house and stay a tad bit longer.

If you ever take a trip to the Flora-Bama area, I highly recommended getting on-board with the Blue Dolphin Cruises and heading out to see the dolphins, the boat ride itself is so relaxing and enjoyable.
