Why I Enter Sweepstakes and Giveaways

Entering giveaways can be an addiction, it can be a bad addiction where you eat, sleep, and think giveaways. At one point in my life, I would stay on the computer for hours entering giveaways. I would wake up first thing in the morning and enter, I didn’t have time for anything else, because I was so addicted.

Over the years my addiction has settled down some, I can now get off the computer and not have withdraws. When I first started entering, I thought it was to good to be true. I couldn’t see companies just giving away things. I had a hard time believing I won certain items when emails would come through, and to this day when I get a congrats email, my heart skips a beat and I get a rush. I start to have anxiety, but in a good way.

Three reasons I enter sweepstakes and giveaways.

It’s Fun

Entering giveaways to me has always been fun. At times a little overwhelming, but over-all entering giveaways can be extremely fun. I admit at times I will get burnt out and I will need to step back, but waiting for that winning email and then getting it, will make one want to continue to enter. I mean who doesn’t like getting packages in the mail, and packages that you didn’t have to pay for.

Nice Items for the Family

I wouldn’t call my family poor, but we’re far from rich. Most months we make ends meet and after bills and food, we don’t have much money left. I am not complaining, however, with my hobby of entering giveaways and sweepstakes, I am able to provide my family with some of the nicer things in life. Somethings I have won that have helped in so many ways, is gift cards, nice items for my daughter, nice items for my kitchen, and items for my husband that I would have never been able to afford. While material things in my family are not the center of our lives, it’s so nice to win items that I know my family will love and appreciate.

Helps With Depression

Whenever I start to get overly stressed or depressed. I often come to my office and start entering giveaways. It allows me to not think about what has me depressed, it’s fun and doesn’t take much thinking. When I become stressed or depressed the best thing for me, is to do something that will take my mind off everything else.

What are some reasons you enter sweepstakes and giveaways? What is the last winning email you received? Mine was for a $700 Chris Shiflett Fender Telecaster from zZounds.com

I agree with your three reasons. Another reason I enter giveaways, I find out about new products and brands. A lot of giveaways introduce me to new brands that I would never here about. :)

You’re absolutely right! I learn about a lot of new products. I learned about this neat minecraft band and it’s how I have learned about several kitchen gadgets I have went and purchased. Love seeing honest reviews on blogs about products before I purchase.

  2. My motto: If you can’t afford to buy it, win it! And besides, I am stuck in the house – a caregiver – so this is my only pleasure. No movies, no dining out, no getting together with friends..hey, no friends! My only friends are the bloggers.

We don’t do much of anything fun unless we review it or we win it. Sometimes it stinks, but I don’t want to be in debt.
