Stop Wasting Money On Contract Phone Services

I received a Mint Sim card and a month service for review purposes.

A few years back, I was looking into getting a new phone. In order to get a new phone without paying almost a thousand dollars, I had to get on a 2 year contract plan. I did a lot of research in order to find what I thought would be the best plan for my needs. I discovered I would be paying for a service I used very little of. Every company I looked into, their smartphone plans started around $65 a month, even though I knew I didn’t need 2GB of data a month, if I wanted a smartphone I had have a package with 2GB of data.

I ended up paying almost $70 a month, and since I use WiFi often, I rarely used 50 minutes of talk time, 100 texts maybe and if I was lucky 300MB of data a month. It became very clear I was wasting money, but I didn’t know I had other options available.

Recently, I learned Ultra Mobile had launched Mint Sim. Mint Sim, is a new cell phone provider that offers consumers like me a hassle free way to have the luxury of a smartphone without the contract, overage, hidden fees or huge bill. They offer talk, text and data plans for as little as $21 a month. The same plan I was paying $70 a month for I can get for $21 a month through Mint Sim.

Mint Sim

In order for one to take advantage of the low prices, they would have to pay for their phone service upfront. For unlimited talk, text and 2GB of data a month, you would pay $250, that makes their service $21 a month. Now, you can pay monthly and it still comes out cheaper than the competitors. However, for me I would rather pay the $250 and be good for a year.

I have been using Mint Sim for about a month now, and thus far I do like it. I have found when I am in a good 4G coverage area, the Internet is super fast. I like being able to turn on hotspot and letting my daughter connect with her phone. When I first received the Mint Sim card, I did have a little bit of problems, but I got on with tech support and they were extremely helpful. I do live in the country so my coverage for any service is low. Which was the issue I was having, however, I went up town and got great service.

Activating the Sim card was super easy and even though I had a little bit of coverage issue (which is normal for me in this area) I had no issues getting the sim card to work in my Verizon iPhone.

Mint Sim

Mint Sim is compatible with most Verizon and AT&T phones that are unlocked. They do use T-Mobile towers and for the most part coverage is good. When they send the sim card it also comes with the adapters so it will fit in all sim card slots.

Mint Sim

If you’re like me and want to save the most money as you possibly can on your phone service, I would highly suggest Mint Sim. Mint Sim would also be perfect for the kiddos, you will never have a surprise on your bill due to overage.

  1. Mint sim sucks big time. I bought foolishly their 1 year card and initiated port out from my old provider on 12/24/16. And … I still have no service and they didn’t complete the port. Their support line doesn’t work the lat 4 days- it just has a message” No agents is currently available” They do not respond to emails.
I understand it was a Holiday but at least leave a message for the customers when you are going to be closed/open. Nothing, that is highly unacceptable.

I had issues with signal at first, however, they worked with me to get it working properly. They were super fast to respond to me, I had no issues with tech. Again it is the holidays, however, that isn’t an excuse on their part. Companies should be better prepared.

  2. been trying to activate my sim on the web since 3 days but didn’t work out. trying to call the tech support but ” No agents is currently available” since 3 days. left a message but no one email or contact me at all. Mint sim sucks big time. even no way for return. Mint sim sucks big time don’t even try it you will loss ur money and time….

  3. Yes it’s true no customer service agent not available can’t speak to no one its 4 days now got my port on 2017/1/15. My number is ported but no service. They only contact by email saying 3 to 5 business days to get it fixed. Says internal error technician have to fix I bought 3 month plan but I will leave when its up or try to get a refund. I was with Ultra for 10 months no problem great customer service and I get to talk to someone when I have a problem. They are from Ultra but it about the money I guess. I don’t know what to do. I asked by email for telephone number to speak to someone they say email is best.Try calling Ultra they said to call mint.Call Ultra again been on hold for 2 hour then they hung up. I hope they not going out of business cause when I use to call Ultra I would get someone in 2 minutes. So I guess it’s a waiting game. No good. Maybe freedom pop or ting for me.

  4. I purchased the three month plan to try the service. Before I I purchased I talked to their customer support because I have a LG g4 on a CDMA network, they said it would work because my phone is unlocked (which it is). So I decided to try it, It didn’t. If you need customer support good luck. The one good thing they did was port my number out.
