There Are Still A Lot Of Good People In The World

Money has been super tight for my family, with not having to pay rent or a house payment for 14 years, I am still trying to manage our money better with a house payment. So when it comes time to going out to eat it’s always the dollar menu. A few months back my husband and I treated ourselves to Starbucks. We get up to the window and the cashier tells us it’s on them because of the wait, my husband and I looked at each other confused because we didn’t really have a wait.

Well, yesterday we went to AR to sell some copper from our old place and we stopped at the casino to play a free $20 they gave to new players, I of course lost, my husband won $22 but played it back in the machine. I was a bit upset about this, because we really didn’t have a lot of money. My husband looked at it as free money anyways so seen no big deal because he was having fun, I on the other hand looked at it as gas money or money that could be used for something we needed.

On our way back we had about 8 cops coming towards us pretty fast, we couldn’t figure out what was going on then one stopped at the light and the others kept going. As we proceeded for a good 5 miles we seen a total of about 20 cops and a ton of motorcycles. No clue what that was about, but it was lunch time and we were talking about going to McDonald’s and picking up something small for our daughter and niece. I decided Wendy’s because we hadn’t been there in awhile.

I happen to like their $1.19 JR Deluxe Cheeseburgers. We ordered some for the kids and ourselves. Pull forward to pay and the cashier told us the lady in front of us paid for our food. My husband and I both looked at each other confused and the lady repeated herself. I was in disbelief. I mean I hear about things like this happening, but I never thought it would happen to us. The lady that paid for our food made my day, it showed me that there are still good people in this world that will help others and not think twice about it.

I posted on a Facebook sale site thanking the lady, no clue who she is, but I hope she sees how much it meant to me. Another member mentioned it was the same lady about a month ago who bought her food as well.

This got my husband and I thinking and wondering if that day we got our Starbucks for free if it was the person in front of us that paid for it as well, but didn’t want us to know. I know I will be paying it forward anyways I can.

It’s the small things strangers do for one another that keep me believing and keep my faith alive. We live in such a cruel world, the only way to make it a better place is to do what we can to help one another even if it is something small.
