Holiday Cross Stitch Patterns

The Holidays are my favorite and when it comes to gift giving, I personally like to give gifts that are handmade. When it comes to any sort of crafting, my husband likes to brag me up. I happen to look at things a bit differently though. I personally think that everyone is a crafter in some sort of way. I can pretty much make anything as long as I have a pattern. My favorite type of crafting is cross stitching and braiding. I do admit though I have to read over a cross stitch pattern several times before I completely understand how to do it perfect. However, the end result is always amazing.

My husband thinks my ability to cross stitch and braid has to do with my Native American bloodline. I like to think it has to do with the fact I have a lot of patience when it comes to certain things and it also helps when the professional crafters make their patterns simple. When a pattern is well written and simple it makes me personally be able to understand it and get the hang of it faster.

How many of you are crafters? Are you a learn on your own or do you have to have someone personally sit with you and explain it step by step? I have to learn it on my own either through someone else’s video or tutorials. But once I learn it once I will not forget it.

How many of you will be giving handmade gifts this year verse store bought gifts? I will be doing a mix of both handmade Christmas ornaments and store bought gifts for the kiddos, unless I can find a neat doll cross stitch pattern then I will be attempting to make my niece a baby for Christmas.
