Staying Healthy into your Forties and Beyond

There’s a lot to take care of when we’re approaching middle age. Sometimes, it can feel like there’s much! We have to take care of – and worry about – the children, find time for work, socializing, you name it. And in between all that, we have to keep one eye on our slightly increasing waistlines and begin to think about our overall health. While it would be easier just to ignore it, doing so would be a mistake: if we keep our bodies healthy, it’ll take care of us for many years to come!

Active Lifestyles

How are you spending your time? If you’re crashing in front of the TV as soon as you can because you’re burnt out from the day, then we have some bad news for you: you might have to give that up and start getting active. It’s not as bad as it sounds! There’s plenty of great, fun, and challenging ways for you to get some physical exercise into your life. Find a new outdoor hobby, join a gym (and stick to it this time!), or find ways to add a touch of exercise into your daily routine.

What We’re Consuming

You can eat whatever you like, more or less, when you’re young and kind of get away with it. Not so when you’re a real adult! Then, all that unhealthy eating begins to show – and you can feel it, too. As such, you need to switch to having meals that are unequivocally good for you. They’re not as hard as they sound to make, far from it! Many delicious, healthy meals can be made in 15 minutes or less. You’ll also be setting a good example for the rest of your family, who naturally pick up what the parents do!

Preventative Measures

Some issues you won’t be able to see. But there’ll be happening, way below the surface. When we hit 30, our bone density begins to decrease, and it speeds up as we approach middle age and beyond. Even though you won’t feel the effects, you can still do something to keep the problem at bay; AlgaeCal plant calcium side effects are minimal, if non-existent, and increases bone strength. You should always check with your doctor when thinking about making a decision related to your health.

With the Family

You influence the health of your family, and they influence yours, too. The flow into each other. You can help yourself by encouraging the rest of your family to get active. It’s hard to sit down and do nothing if you have the partner and the kids getting all excited about a family hike, for example! They’ll also be less bad food in the fridge if everyone is on the same page.

Cutting Out the Vice

And finally, we’re not going to cut out all of your fun (we wouldn’t dream!), but it is important that you keep any vices to a minimum. Drinking and smoking are damaging to the body, and will age you before your time!
