Cats Need As Much Care As Dogs Do You Know!

Don’t let cat’s fool you, they are highly intelligent creatures, and although they may be a lot more independent than dogs, they still require just as much care.
Here’s how you can do that.

Brush your cat every day

Cats will groom themselves constantly, but they won’t be able to do as good of a job on their fur as you can. You should brush your kitty every day. Not only will their coat be a lot more attractive, but you will reduce the amount of hairballs that can develop in the digestive system. It will also prevent molting because you’re removing any excess fur that builds up.
Some cats won’t enjoy being groomed, so the key is to associate brushing with a positive… Like food.

Don’t feed your cat too much dry food

While dogs can live on a diet without meat – cats can’t, even if it’s only for a short period of time. Their main meal of the day should always be meat as they rely on it to be the foundation of their diet. Too much dry food can be harmful to your cats because it’s filled with plenty of carbs which can later lead to obesity and diabetes.

Pay attention to your cat’s water intake

Make sure you always have a fresh supply of water for your cat. Just like humans, they will become dehydrated which results in a lack of energy and a general discomfort. You can notice if you cat is dehydrated because their eyes may be sunken, they will pant, and become lethargic. If you pinch their skin around their neck, it should fall back down immediately – if it doesn’t, your cat needs to drink a lot more as soon as possible.

Ticks and fleas

Ticks are ugly looking critters that do all they can to suck the blood out of your pet, no matter whether its a cat, dog, or even human, as long as they have a blood supply they’re happy. Fleas on the other hand can cause absolute havoc – and they bite! The best cat flea medicine will usually come in ‘spot on’ form which you apply to their skin high between their shoulder blades so they can’t get to it. This will not only kill all the terrible terrors that are lurking in your kitty’s fur, but it will also prevent them from coming back.

Provide enough litter boxes

Each cat should have its own litter box, plus an additional one, and you should think properly about where they are placed. Humans like to hide boxes out of the way in a dark corner, but cats may not want to go there. Although your cat most likely won’t feel comfortable doing their business in the center of a room, they may also be wary of doing it in a dark area, so it’s all about finding a happy medium. If you don’t see them using it, move the box into a different area to see if that helps.
