With the technology we have today, board games have become pretty boring. I mean who wants to play a long game at the kitchen table when you can play something fun on the computer. Well Gillian does of course. Gillian loves playing games, it doesn’t matter if we are playing a game at the table, the computer, or in front of the TV she LOVES games.

I have been playing all kinds of different games with her these past few days. This afternoon she was wanting to play something different, so I got online and looked up kids pictionary words. I ended up going to The Game Gal, and I am glad I did! While on her blog I found words that not only would be easy, but they would be fun.

So we printed them all off, cut them all out, put them in our box, got out the dry erase board and called daddy to play.

Mom of course won! When ever we play games and Gillian gets a win, she gets so excited and starts talking smack. She loves smack talk, but then again you cannot play a game if you are not going to talk smack to the other players. It was funny because daddy was up to the board, and Gillian and I was trying to guess I was so close… And then she got it, first thing she does is look at me with her sneaky grin, and says “booya, in your face sucka”. She was pretty proud of herself for getting that.

Cars 2 in Theaters June 24th

Who said you had to be a kid to like cartoons! I remember when Cars first came out, we watched it a good 5 times. My favorite character is of course, Mater the Tow Truck. I love Larry the Cable Guy, he cracks me up!

“Shes my fiancée. Naw, jus kiddin! She just likes me for my body.” Is one of my all-time favorite quotes from the movie, and I am glad to see there will be a second one coming out on June 24th! I think this will for sure be on the list of movies Gillian and I go see.

Guess who is back!

The MUPPETS! Growing up I loved watching the Muppets. There is some shows, that can never completely disappear. I love seeing all my favorites coming back and becoming my daughters favorites!

The Muppets, will be making their way into Theaters on November 23rd, 2011… Just in time for the family to go watch them on the big screen then go home and cook turkey dinner.

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. This will give the kids, and even the adults something fun to do together. When ever we have family events we always have print offs like these. We all sit down before dinner and see who can finish their puzzles faster. Then of course after the first person finishes everyone hoovers over the winners page, and cheats, but hey its family enjoying family time together so it is all worth it.

Tennessee Safari Park

One thing I love about Home Schooling is we can take MANY field trips. I personally feel a child will learn more and understand more with hands on experiences. Wednesday we decided it was field trip day!

Therefore, we went on a Safari! I recently discovered the Tennessee Safari Park, and believe it or not it is only an hour away from us.

Price for adults is twelve dollars, children it is ten dollars, you can purchase food to feed the animals as you drive through the park as well. The food is three dollars a cup or four for ten dollars. I decided to just get four cups. Since it was our first time, he gave us another cup free. When he started to hand me these cups, I was in shock these was not cups they was bowls! As I was handing them to my husband, he was kind of looking at me as if I was crazy for getting that many. I stated to the gentleman that sold them to me that “I hope the animals are hungry.” He said “Oh they will be”

First animal we came across was an Ostrich; I do not recommend you feed these if you go to the park. They are super messy eaters, and made a huge mess in the car. He did not want me to leave, kept sticking his head in the window. Another emu wanted food so he started pecking on the window.

My favorite to feed was the deer; these are not your normal deer. These deer are from Africa and India. They were letting us pet them as we feed them.

Gillian, was a bit unsure on the animals, she was having a hard time feeding them. I think she was afraid that they would bite her hands. However, we had no issues with the animals trying to be aggressive.

Along the way there was many other animals, some wanted nothing to do with us.

I took lots more pictures, but I will limit what I post on here, after leaving the area with all these amazing animals we got to head on up to the gift shop, and the other animals. We seen Monkeys, and a turtle, Kangaroos, zebras, goats, camels, birds and even a huge giraffe.

I tried to get Gillian to feed the Giraffe, but she wouldn’t she said he was too big!

We will be going back in the future.
