Did you know Santa has already made his list and he is now checking it twice… Christmas is less than 10 weeks away are you getting those preparations in place? The guest list for dinner wrote out, the fun games planned? What about those presents you have them bought, wrapped, and stashed? No worries me either, however, it is getting closer so it might be a great idea to get to working on them just a little bit, ya think?

Story time, a few weeks about my daughter had a sleep over with her cousins, the one cousin just turned 5 and she says some of the cutest things… I need to do a blog just on things she says… Anyways my daughter brought out her letter and picture from Santa and was letting them see it, my niece got sad and was starting to cry. I asked her what was wrong she states it wasn’t fair that Santa left Gillian a letter and picture and not her… I told her maybe this year he would leave her one, but he was just probably busy last year. She states or… he likes Gillian better then her because she is a better kid… LOL I busted out laughing.

So this year I will be doing a letter and possible picture for my niece to put in her stocking so she can be the better kid this Christmas, I would also love to win another call from Santa like I did a few years ago, I think that would make her so excited!

Valentine’s Day was indeed first, sweetest day has only been around since 1921. Valentine’s Day since the 14th century. Sweetest Day was originally started to bring a smile to the faces of orphans, newsboys, poor people, and older folks. Now you have to be rich to celebrate Sweetest Day LOL. I think Sweetest day should have kept its purpose, how many candy companies are donating sweets to the old peoples homes, orphanages, and the homeless shelters today?

The problem we have is, days are intended for certain things, and over time the whole purpose is changed to benefit business owners. After doing my research on Sweetest Day, I find it sad that the day is not celebrated the way it was intended. I would love to one day see Sweetest Day turned back into what it once was, I challenge candy companies to donate candies to the poor, elderly, and orphans.

This one day is not going to hurt companies, specially with Halloween following, where people spend too much.

So candy companies, this is to you, make today about the people it was intended for, take candy to at least ONE orphanage, homeless shelter, or nursing home, and see the smiles on their faces as you give them something sweet, let them know they have not been forgotten.
