Looking Back

As parents, we all want to see our children graduate high school, attend college and become very successful. When I graduated high school I had so many plans, I wanted to go to college, and either become a lawyer (because I love to argue hah) or a private detective. I never made it that far though; I graduated high school and ended up getting a job. I had imagined myself going to college after high school, becoming a successful person. Sometimes though,  things never work out as planned.

Growing up I was never encouraged to follow my dreams, or to further my education. I don’t want the same for my daughter. I want her to graduate high school, and then I want her to pursue her dreams. Whether it is big or small, I want her to go for it, and to know as long as she tries she can become whatever she wants to become.

I will encourage here from now until then to follow her heart. Who knows where I would be now if I followed my heart. Don’t get me wrong I love my life, I love being a mom, and a wife; however, I do wish I had a higher education, and I do not want my daughter to ever wish she had something, I want her to know she can have whatever she puts her mind to having.

How many of you will be attending a loved ones graduation here shortly?

Graduation CardsDisclosure: I was compensated for this post; however, this is 100% my own feelings and work.

  1. private detective mmm i wanted to be one also..LOL we would have made a great team haha! I agree i tell me kids all the time the sky is the limit. I really hope that they follow their dreams. That’s why i am so hard on them when it comes to school. Hopefully they will understand why i am so hard on them. I don’t want them to make the mistakes that i made.

    • I stress it to Gillian, I do not want her to have to depend on anyone. I want her to work hard, and become a very successful young lady. I want her to be everything she can be without having to grow up and say I wish I would have did this, I wish I would have done that. I want her to say I have accomplished so much.

Don’t get me wrong I will be proud of her no matter what I just want her to be the best she can be no matter what!
