Losing Weight Means Time To Shop

It seems as if I have been on my weight loss journey my whole life. I recall mom making me walk up and down the stairs, I recall her making me walk miles and miles a day, yet the weight went no where. At one time I was on a salad diet and while I was active and I didn’t eat much, it seemed I was just meant to be fat.

Over the years my weight has bounced and while I have attempted to get serious about my weight in the past, it wasn’t until recently I started to take it seriously. Several times I lost 50 pounds only to turn around and go in a depression state and gain it all back plus some, the beginning of 2014 I once again hit the 315 mark on the scale, my hips was 67 inches and my jean size was 32. With wanting to have another child, I knew I had to do something and with hitting 35 this year I needed to make a BIG change.

I dropped the soda, limited the sugar intake, started to slowly work out, found out I was insulin resistant and started to watch the inches melt away and the number on the scale come down. Over the past year I have lost over 30 inches, and almost 60 pounds! My hip size has gone from 67 to 59.5 and I have dropped from a size 32 jeans to a size 24/26… The stretchy pants that once fit fine are falling off, while I still have a lot of weight to drop, I need to think about getting a few new outfits now.

Since losing weight is still something I am working on, I honestly don’t want to spend a lot of money on clothes, but since I am losing weight my confidence level is going up, and a few nice outfits is something I can work into my budget.

Since I am not looking to spend a lot, when shopping local I will be hitting up the clearance sections. When shopping on-line, I will be looking at deal sites such as Frugaa.com (http://www.frugaa.com/).

Oftentimes, when you look at the different discount and deal sites online, you can find awesome savings that will turn that little bit of money you had to spend on a lot of items for less. I know from looking around at the different deal sites I can get with shopping plus clothing online, Lands End currently looks to be the best place for me to shop, fashionable clothing, great prices, plus tons of deals to be made!

When shopping online, what are somethings you’re looking for when you look on deal sites like Frugaa.com? Discounts off? Free Shipping?

Comments

  1. Free shipping (or at least what I consider to be reasonable shipping) is a must. I recall once I ordered a $7 item, and the shipping/handling/processing was almost TWICE that! (What is a shipping/processing charge, anyway??????????)
