Michigan Has Things Backwards

Yes they do, and let me explain to you why.

Michigan is considered one of the poorest states. As of July, 2011 they had an unemployment rate of 10.9%, don’t believe me? Let me show you the chart.

Okay, so answer me this, if the state is considered the poorest, why the hell is their insurance rates SKY HIGH! I had to switch over our insurance, so I could get tags on the car, well… it is law to have insurance in Michigan. Geico, told me 94 a month, which they later raised on me, I am not at all happy about this, so I called around to find it cheaper. In TN we were paying 62 a month through Geico for full coverage!

HAHA All-State quoted me 230 a month for full coverage, ARE YOU FING KIDDING ME! 21st Century quoted me $179 a month… how do they expect people to pay these prices, when 10.9% are out of work. Oh and it gets better, the gas prices are insane. From Big Rapids to Mt. Pleasant you will find atleast a 10 to 15 cent difference between the gas stations.

I understand the state is “poor” but hello so are the people in the state.

I remember about 10 years ago when I purchased my first car here in Michigan, and my full coverage was only 34$ a month through All-State. Everything in this state has changed so much, but yet they still keep screwing the ones living here. In order to have a state that is not poor, you have to do right by the people.

In the small town I am living in, they are building a 2.5 million dollar library, how many jobs will this offer? They already had a library, did they really need one that went to blocks? Why did they not build a store of some sort to provide jobs to the ones in this area. This state is ass backwards, and they will continue to be the poorest state unless they rethink their priorities.

More to come about back assward Michigan.
