Tornado Chasing

Last night as we sat here, the tornado sirens started going off. My sister decided she wanted to go storm chasing. So we all loaded up in the truck and went looking for the storm. The clouds were crazy, they were a big wall, one huge cloud. The weather man had stated a tornado could spawn at anytime. As we kept driving into the eye of the storm it started hailing really bad.

My sister decided she didn’t want to chase the storm any more so we turned around. Having lived in the South for 8 years, I have somewhat gotten use to tornado warnings. At one time my husband and I even got in the car going out looking for the tornado. I have to say if we were to ever run into a tornado I think I would crap my pants.

I am not one for bad storms, seeing the damage they can do first hand is what scares me. I don’t know what I would do if the damage was put on my family. Thankfully the area we live in, in Tennessee is somewhat protected. We do have high winds, and I think we have to worry more about straight line winds, then tornados.

Have you ever seen a tornado?
