NBC Cancels Revolution

About three months ago my husband and I were searching Netflix for something to watch. With searching for about 10 minutes and finding nothing really interesting we decided to just put it on Revolution.

We didn’t expect to get drawn in, after the first episode we were hooked and within a weeks time we had finished all 20 episodes of Season 1. We quickly searched for season 2 via Google and discovered it was airing on NBC. We watched 18 episodes of season 2 and were finally caught up. After getting caught up we discovered we had to wait three weeks for episode 19 to air. I am not certain why NBC delayed the airing of Revolution for three weeks or why they decided to move it from Monday night at 10pm to Wednesday night at 8pm.

However, I can only assume and my assumptions are the reasoning for NBC canceling Revolution has to do with the direction the show was going.

Watch Revolution Season 1 on Netflix

Fifteen years after a permanent global blackout, a group of revolutionaries seeks to drive out an occupying force posing as the United States Government.

During season 1 of Revolution, the lights went out, and it was everyone for themselves. Many people died because they simply couldn’t survive, Miles Matheson played by Billy Burke and Sebastian ‘Bass’ Monroe played by David Lyons were military personnel and once the blackout accord like many they to were traveling by foot. The did their best to protect those that couldn’t protect themselves and ended up starting the Monroe Militia.

However, the boys let the power go to their head and the Monroe Militia turned into the bad guys, they would kill innocent people and they trained their followers as the best. Miles didn’t like the direction and tried to kill Bass. Miles ended up leaving the Monroe Militia and then Bass sent the militia out to find both Miles and his brother because he knew they had information about the blackout.

Once the militia caught up with Ben Matheson the were going to take him back to Bass Monroe, however, things went bad and the Monroe Militia killed Ben, before he died he told Charlie to go find her Uncle Miles, because he would know what to do. Well, she caught up with him and things got real interesting. I will not go into details so I don’t spoil it for everyone.

Revolution Season 2

Without going into details a few of them attempted to turn the power back on, they discovered the Patriots (The USA) had launched missiles to take out some of the larger armies that had formed because of the blackout.

When the blackout first happened the Government officials got on boats and left to Guantanamo Bay now that the power came on long enough to hit and kill hundreds of people, the Government came back to take over. Now we have the Government coming into the small towns and not only killing people in their sneaky ways, but also training the kids to kill.

Miles, Rachel and Charlie ended up teaming up with Bass and a few others to stop the US Government.

Season 2 is currently airing on NBC, however, NBC has just announced it won’t be renewing Revolution for Season 3. Personally I believe NBC made this decision based on the direction the show was going. Now we have the show going in the direction of several people seeing how corrupt and deadly the US Government is and they’re trying to put a stop to it.

This was one of the best shows that has aired on network TV in a long time, and if you liked Giancarlo Esposito in Breaking Bad, you’ll love him in Revolution! And if the reason NBC canceled Revolution because of the direction it was going, it only proves one thing and that’s you cannot disagree with how the Government is being ran. Our Government is so corrupt with bad people and this is why we’re in such a bad state right now.

I hope Netflix or another station will pick up Revolution because this show does have a fan base and it rocks!

Don’t you just hate it when you start watching a show it’s canceled? Especially when it’s a pretty darn good one….it’s happened to me a few times.
