How many of you have children that love listening to music? My daughter takes her love for music after her dad, they both love listening to music and both listen to about the same things. However, our daughter is only 13 and somethings her dad listens to is music I would rather my daughter not be listening to. I like to keep my daughter’s mind clean from bad content in music as long as I can! We don’t get to much fuss about this, she just searches for clean versions of the songs she would like to listen to.

However, electronics have come a long way and it seems as if everyone I know and their children have some sort of device to use to play games with and listen to music. This makes it a bit harder for parents to really monitor what their children listen to. We can do the whole honor system, but chances are your child isn’t always being 100% honest with what they’re listening to. Trust me I have heard some of the music my 12 and 13 year old nieces listen to and NO WAY would I allow my 13 year old to listen to it.

Thankfully, there’s apps out there to give parents better control over what their children are listening to such as musicBleeper. Currently musicBleeper is only available for those with iOS, this is a free app which can be found in the Apple Store.

The ins and outs about musicBleeper

musicBleeper is a censorship app, which gives parents control over the lyrics in the music their children listen to. How the app works is by scanning the music already on the device in which it’s installed. If musicBleeper comes across a song which is not in their current database, they will quickly work to scrub or censor that song.

By default this app skips all unsafe words, there’s currently 91 words in their unsafe words database, and you can easily manage those unsafe words in the settings of the app. What some may feel is unsafe for their children’s ears others may not feel the same, so they can easily allow those words into the music by simply tapping the word to change the status.

musicBleeper is password protected, so you don’t have to worry about those sneaky kids going in and changing your settings. If your child don’t have their own device but instead uses yours, you can easily turn musicBleeper on and off, so that when you’re listening to your music it to isn’t being censored.

Every-time a new hit comes out it seems as if the lyrics are getting worse, with musicBleeper parents no longer have to worry about their child being subjected to the inappropriate words and can have a bit of relief knowing musicBleeper is silencing those words. If you have an Apple device and a child that loves music, I recommend musicBleeper, whether it be on their device or your device. Having it on your device will assure that when you’re listening to your music without headphones the kiddos will not accidentally hear the words to one of your favorite songs.

How many of you have kids that love listening to music? How many of you are often worried about the lyrics they listen to? If you answered yes to either of those questions head over here and download the musicBleeper app!
