Seafood Friday With Ryan’s, HomeTown Buffet and Old Country Buffet

Disclosure: I received free meal tickets to review Ryan’s seafood night.

One thing I like about Buffets, is the family gets full and I don’t have to cook. My family is a fan of Ovation Brands restaurants. Ovation Brands currently has 328 steak buffet restaurants in 35 states. These restaurants currently employ over 17,000 employees and server over 100 million hungry people annually. You may know these restaurants as Old Country Buffet, Ryan’s and HomeTown Buffet. I have only had the pleasure in checking out Ryan’s.

My family has been going to Ryan’s for over 10 years, the menu just keeps getting better and better. Over the past few years, I have learned of family night at Ryan’s. With new themes though-out the year it makes family night on Thursday’s that much better.

I also love Ryan’s breakfast, while it’s not served every morning, on the mornings it is served it’s amazing. My husband and I try to hit up breakfast at Ryan’s a few times a year. Something about the ham and eggs that make me look forward to breakfast at Ryan’s.

With Ovation Brands restaurants always changing things up, I was excited to see Friday Night seafood night at the different Buffets.

Seafood Fridays

Every Friday night, starting on February 20, guests may enjoy an assortment of seafood options including Popcorn Shrimp, Butterfly Shrimp, Baked Fish, Garlic and Italian Herb Fish, Fried Fish, Southern Fried Fish (Ryan’s), and Atlantic Salmon (Old Country Buffet and HomeTown Buffet). These seafood offerings may be paired with any number of home-style sides or even the fresh salad bar. Every meal may be topped off with something sweet from the dessert bar.

This particular promotion will end on April 3rd, 2015. My family had the chance to check out Friday night seafood this past Friday at Ryan’s. All I can say is YUM!

If you cannot tell from my plate of food I love shrimp and that pork chop, was the best pork chop I have had in a long time. With trying to lose weight my stomach has shrunk, so what you see on that plate is all I was able to eat. The sad part, I wasn’t even able to finish that pork chop and it was so good.

The butterfly shrimp was a big hit with most, while we were there the cooks filled the shrimp up at least 3 times. One thing I love about Ryan’s Buffet is they have a large assortment of food. So even if you didn’t like seafood you could still enjoy your meal with the many other food choices.

One of my favorite items at Ryan’s is their homemade dinner rolls and the honey butter.

Look at those rolls! I could go there just to eat the rolls no lie. We also always have great service when we go, our drinks never get empty and the used plates stay cleared from our table.

Ryan’s also has a great salad bar, one section is the main salad fixings, while the other part of the salad bar is your different pasta salads and fruits.

One of my daughter’s favorite parts of dinner at Ryan’s is the desserts. No matter how full we are we always have to hit up dessert, even if it’s for a small ice cream cone.

The banana pudding has to be one of my favorite desserts from Ryan’s, I also like it when they have the mini cheesecakes.

  1. Pauline & John/Cape Cod says

We have been dying to try out the Old Country Buffet. We had one on Cape Cod many moons ago but they felt we didn’t deserve to have one i guess since people on the Cape will spend big money for seafood….WRONG. How about us regular year round folks having a chance to purchase a meal they can afford? Country Buffet can do that.

I didn’t see any question in the review so I will just say that we love Ryans. I like their chicken and dumpling and they usually have them on the buffet when we go. I like to go at 3:30 so they have started serving steak. Just this last time they started bringing the steak to the table. I think I liked it better the other way because the steaks were already ready and you didn’t have to wait plus the quality of the steaks they had before they started this new thing was better. But all in all, I still love Ryan’s. We go there probably twice a month.
