Rarest Dog Breeds In The World

I never was a dog person until recently, and I never heard of mix breeding until my sister purchased a Boston Terrier and Pug also known as a Bug. After falling in love with our two dogs I decided to look up the rarest dog breeds in the world.

In my search I discovered there’s a whole bunch of dog breeds I have never heard of and most I cannot even pronounce.

The Kishu, is native to Japan and you won’t find any of these anywhere else, because it’s very much illegal to export these dogs. The Kishu is considered a big game hunter, they’re alert, docile, faithful and noble. They get to be only about 60 pounds.

The Pumi is a terrier type breed of sheep dog. This breed comes from Hungary and is a medium type dog with the males getting to be only 33 pounds and the females 29. The life span of the Pumi is 12 to 13 years, these dogs are considered to be very protective, intelligent, active and vocal.

The Azawakh is a sighthound breed from Africa. They have a life span of 10 to 12 years, can reach speeds up to 40mph. They’re known to be rugged, fierce, attentive, and affectionate.

While this is only a few of the rarest dog breeds in the world, the other ones I discovered were beautiful! If you’re looking to add a dog to your family, whether you want a rare breed of a known breed, so your homework. All breeds have different needs that they need met.

Dogs are also people pets and often times will get depressed when their human companions leave.

What are some weird breeds you have heard of?

  1. I love dogs but have never heard of these 3 breeds. The most fun dog I got to help with at work was a puli, the dog with dreadlocks!

I have never heard of these breeds either. With being an animal loving family it’s neat to learn about different breeds of animals!
