Math Made Fun With Math Bingo

How many of you remember back when you were in school? I graduated in 1997, but I still can remember how much I disliked Math. It always seemed like the class was the longest of all my classes. While Math wasn’t my worst subject, it sure wasn’t my best subject.

With homeschooling our daughter, the one subject she to struggles with is Math. With so many new resources, Math no longer has to be a struggle for our children. We as parents and teachers, can make learning Math fun for our children, with different math games like monopoly or bingo math. BingoMania has ready-made math bingo sheets for download and printing here.

If you have ever played Bingo for real money, you know how much fun one can have. With knowing how fun it is for us adults, you can only imagine how much fun it is for our children.

How do you play Math Bingo or Mathingo?

The same way one plays regular bingo, except you use math problems. You will want to assign one person, an adult or older sibling to do the calling and verifying the card once Bingo is called.

What all do I need to get started with Math Bingo?

What you need to play Math Bingo can be found in your home and on-line. First, you’ll want to get your Bingo sheets, if you have access to a printer, you can find free printable Math Bingo sheets on-line. If you don’t have access to a printer you can always hand make your Bingo cards.

We like using dabber, however, pennies are great to use, because you’ll then be able to reuse the Bingo sheets. You’ll also need a container and numbers. I like to print the answers to the Math questions on paper and then cut them out.

All these materials can be reused.

Can I get creative with it?

Of course! I have learned that my daughter understands the work we do, the more creative we are. When we adults play Bingo, it’s usually to win money. When our children play it’s to have fun and to learn, however, you can get a treat box, fill it with trinkets and whoever wins gets to pick out of the trinket box. With Math Bingo there’s so many ways to make this fun and exciting for the child.

Is Math Bingo just for younger children?

No! Math Bingo can be for any age child, whether the child is learning Multiplication or Calculus. You will just need to adjust the questions and answers to the Math your child is learning.

Not only is Math Bingo, educational, but it’s also a great way for us parents to be more involved in our children’s learning and these simple Math drills will help our children develop stronger bonds with us because we’re involved with their education.

Remember we as parents are our children’s first teachers and when it does come to their educations I strongly feel we as parents need to be more involved.
