Intervention

When we had cable television, one of my favorite channels was A&E. So, in March 2005, when a show called Intervention came on, my husband new this would be a show I would like. So I sat down and started watching it, on most episodes I cried like a baby. When people have addictions like the ones on these shows, there usually is something more to it.

Invention works with over 50 different rehab centers in the US, and 11 of those centers are in California.  California rehab facilities work with the show to get those needing and wanting help, in for treatment. Not everyone who has an intervention will go into a rehab center, and not everyone who goes into a rehab center will come out changed.

Usually when someone has a serious addiction, whether is be drinking, drugs, or hoarding, it’s going to take more than a short term rehab center to change them, and keep them away from the life they once lead. One has to really hit rock bottom, to make the changes needed into their life, to keep working towards staying on the right track.

If you know someone who has an addiction, it maybe time you consider and intervention, to let the loved one know you will be there for them, to help guide them. Remember, once they do go through rehab, they will still need you through-out the rest of their lives. Staying sober is a one day at a time thing, and takes a lot of work on the person becoming sober.
